About rubbish removal →Rubbish removal, garden waste and house clearances in Micklefield — the former pit village on the eastern edge of Leeds, near the A1(M).
Micklefield grew up around coal mining, and the older part of the village still has terraces and semis from that era. Since then, new estates have added modern family homes, bringing younger households into the village. Older homes often have long gardens and outbuildings, while newer ones have garages and lofts. That mix means we see probate clearances, garden waste and garage jobs, often all in one visit. Garages on newer homes fill up fast.
Older terraces have narrow stairs and rear gardens reached through the house or via back lanes. Semis usually have side gates. Newer homes are easier to work in, with wide doors and integral garages, though loft hatches are small. Long gardens can mean a fair walk with each load, which we factor into the quote. Sheds and outbuildings at the bottom of older gardens can be dismantled and taken away. Where the only route out is through the house, we lay down protection first.
Most of Micklefield has kerbside parking or drives, and permits aren't an issue. The village sits close to the A1(M), A63 and A656, so we can get there early. Some older streets are narrow, so if a van could block the road, tell us and we'll plan the stop. Newer estates may have shared drives or parking courts. A free drive is always easiest.
Expect garden waste, probate and downsizing clearances, garage clear-outs and old furniture. Micklefield is in the Leeds council area; the nearest Leeds tip is Seacroft on Limewood Road, LS14, which is a fair drive. Without a van permit, residents can only take car loads, and staff can't help unload, so larger jobs often suit a collection. Send photos of what's going and we'll quote. Price agreed before loading, receipt afterwards.

The nearest Leeds tip is Seacroft on Limewood Road, LS14, a drive away across east Leeds. It's for residents in cars or on bikes; vans need a permit, and staff can't help unload. If you've more than one car load, a collection usually saves a lot of trips.
Yes. Some older homes have long gardens, which means a walk with every load. We bag green waste, break down old sheds and fencing, and carry everything out. Branches over 3cm, which the brown bin won't take, are fine. Soil and rubble can also go if mentioned in advance.
Yes. We'll dismantle timber sheds and take them away with whatever's inside. Asbestos roof sheeting is something we can't take, so if your shed has an old cement-type roof, tell us first. Liquid paint, fuel and chemicals stored inside also need setting aside.
Sofas and other upholstered seating may contain persistent organic pollutants from old flame retardants. In England they must be kept separate and incinerated, not landfilled. We load them apart from the rest and take them to a site that handles them properly.
