Name and number is enough. We'll ring you back the same working day to talk it through.

Most rubbish jobs start the same way: a pile that has grown in the back bedroom, the cellar or down the side of the house, and no easy way to shift it. You don't need a skip permit, a van or a free weekend. Take a few photos on your phone and send them over, or just describe what's there. We work out a price from that, confirm it with you before anything is lifted, and then two of us load it from wherever it sits. Nothing has to be dragged to the kerb first.

Household waste removal is the bulk of what we do. Old furniture, bags from a clear-out, broken toys, carpet ripped off the stairs, the contents of a shed, a cooker that has finally given up. Mixed loads are fine. The sorting happens at a licensed facility rather than on your doorstep, so there's no need to split anything into piles. Items in decent condition are set aside for reuse or charity where we can, and the rest goes down the right route for what it is.

Why pay anyone when the council runs free tips? Sometimes you shouldn't. If you have a car, a small load and an hour spare, the household waste recycling sites cost Leeds residents nothing. We earn our keep when the load won't fit in a hatchback, you'd need a van permit, the stuff is upstairs or in the loft, or the council's unwanted items collection can't help because the items are indoors or the slots have gone. You get a receipt from a licensed carrier every time.

Paperwork and the rules

The law puts a duty of care on you for your household waste. If you hand it to someone who isn't licensed and it gets dumped, it can be traced back to you, and Leeds City Council says that can mean a £200 fixed penalty or prosecution. Check any collector on the Environment Agency public register for an upper-tier registration starting CBDU, pay by card or bank transfer, and ask where the waste is going. We'll give you our number to check before you book.

Worth reading: Fly-tipping fines in Leeds: what householders can be fined for. There are two separate fines a Leeds householder can face over dumped rubbish. One is for fly-tipping it yourself. The other is for handing it to someone who then dumps it. Both are avoidable.

Rubbish removal: common questions

How much does rubbish removal in Leeds cost?

It depends on how much there is, what it is and how far we have to carry it. We don't publish a price list; send photos and we'll quote. For context, Leeds City Council publishes minimum legal disposal costs before labour, such as £36.25 for a sofa and two armchairs, and says a quote below those figures probably means the waste will be fly-tipped.

Do I need to bring everything outside first?

No. Leave it where it is. We'll go up to the loft hatch, down the cellar steps or round to the back garden and carry it out ourselves. If something is fixed in place, like a fitted wardrobe or shelving screwed to a wall, mention it when you send photos so we can plan for it and allow the time.

Is waste removal different from rubbish removal?

Not really. People search for both and mean the same thing: someone licensed to collect household waste and get rid of it legally. The real difference is between household and commercial waste. Waste from a business, or from a landlord clearing a vacated let, counts as commercial, so we issue a waste transfer note for it rather than a simple receipt.

What happens to my rubbish after you take it?

Usable items in decent condition are set aside for reuse or charity. The rest goes to a licensed facility where it's sorted. Upholstered seating is kept separate and sent for incineration, as the rules require, and fridges go to a facility permitted to treat them. We don't put a percentage on how much is recycled, because it changes from one load to the next.

When can you come?

We work 7am to 7pm. Send your photos and postcode and we'll reply the same working day with a quote and the slots we have free. We agree a time with you when the price is confirmed, and if anything changes on the day we'll tell you before it affects you, not after.
